Tools
> Test Parameters (Start Instructions)

- You
can present instructions to be followed by the reader either
at the beginning of the text or at the end of any paragraph
of the text to be read. Technically speaking, the two types
of instructions differ:
- The
instructions presented at the beginning of the text are
obligatory. The default setting is "Click to start!".
You can replace this with the instructions of your choice
by using the Tools > Test Parameters > Start Instructions
command.
- The
instructions dispersed in the text are not obligatory. They
can be written such that the reader sees them at the beginning
of a new paragraph or a new section (ex. "In this paragraph,
pay particular attention to Peter's arguments."), or
immediately after the presentation of a questionnaire present
in the text (ex. "End of questionnaire. Attention,
the text continues.") Instructions of this kind are
not added to a text in the same manner as are Start Instructions.
Rather, they are attached to a specific textual segment
and as such, they can be treated as analogous to images,
questionnaires or paragraphs - all those elements falling
under Events. Contrary to the three other kinds of
events, however, instructions must be attached to the textual
segment that they precede (rather than the one they follow).
- To
modify the Start Instructions, you must do the following:
- Use
the Tools > Test Parameters command (or click
on the
button on the toolbar). A window called Test Parameters
will appear. Click on the Start Instructions tab,
if necessary. Modify the start instructions and set the
alignment. Next, click Close.
