- Select
the menu Tools > Test Parameters (or click the
button on the toolbar). The window Test Parameters will
appear. Click on Display, if necessary.
- Columns
and Rows (cf. Note 1): Select
the desired format of the matrix by sliding the horizontal pointer
which determines the number of columns (ranging from 1 to 4)
and the vertical pointer which determines the number of rows
(ranging from 2 to 6, for a text with distractors).
- Alignment:
The aligments of textual segments within each box of the matrix
is Left by default. To modify segment alignment, use
the roll-down menu.
- Show
Tabs: Check this box to see the vertical guide showing the
space available to the left (visible in horizontal
view only).
- Margins:
Use the roll-down menu to determine the distance of the vertical
tabs (visible in horizontal view only).
- Text
without distractor(s): Check this box when you wish to present
a text without distractors. This option corresponds to the 1
row x 1 column format (cf. Note 2).
The window will be displayed as follows:

Note
1. There are certain restrictions dictating the choice
of the number of columns and rows in step 2 (but not at step
1). Thus, at step 2, the number of columns can only
be reduced (and not increased). It is possible to reduce the
number of rows, but the cost is that extra distractors
will be automatically deleted.
Note
2. This option allows you, among other things, to
save a text under another name (File > Save As
)
to be able to generate a second version without distractors.
