At the
moment of text segmentation, it is best to have already selected
the font and font size of the characters of the text to be generated.
As these two settings determine the maximum lenth of the segments,
the cutting of the text into segments will be able to take this
into account automatically. For the same reason, it is also
best to have already selected the number of columns and rows
in the text matrix (cf. Test Parameter menu > Display
tab > Column settings).
Select
the command Tools > Cut into Segments to divide the
text to be generated.
To start,
click on Polish Segments. This will guarantee that the
spaces preceeding periods - those sometimes produced by text
editing software as a default configuration - will be automatically
removed (unless of course you wish to have a segment containing
only a punctuation mark and nothing else).
Next,
choose among these three options:
The
first option allows you to set the exact number of words
per segment. Click on the arrow allowing you to access the
roll-down menu and select the number of words wanted. Next,
click on the corresponding tab.
The
option Complete Sentences by Segment
will lead to a segmentation based on punctuation
(period, question mark, exclamation mark). This option can
easily create segments that are too long, especially with
a matrix having three or four columns; but it is always
possible to manually cut segments generated by the option
Complete sentences per Segment into smaller segments.
To choose this option, click on the corresponding tab.
The
option Maximize Automatically selects the maximal
length while taking into account the parameters selected
for the character size of the text, its font and the number
of columns in the display matrix. To choose this option,
click on the corresponding tab.
