Events
> Questionnaire

- It is possible
to add a questionnaire at any location in the text to be read.
The questionnaire can be composed of multiple choice questions,
true or false questions, or a combination of both. Adding a
questionnaire is a two-step process. First, you must create
a question bank. This is done in a window called Question
Bank. It can be accessed with the command Tools
> Question Bank. Second, these questions (or some
of these questions) must be linked to the last segment of a
paragraph, which is often the last paragraph of the text. It
is also possible to create two or more questionnaires and link
them to different locations in the text (for example, at the
end of a thematic unit of the text); if the segment selected
is not the last of the paragraph, it will automatically become
so by adding the questionnaire. Each question in the Question
Bank can be used only once in the same text. It is best
to use the commands dealing with the questionnaire in vertical
view, since the linking point of a questionnaire to a textual
segment is only visible in the vertical view of the integrated
editor of the Zigzag Generator.
Create a questionnaire
- In the
integrated editor of the Zigzag Generator, vertical view,
select the text segment to which the questionnaire should be
linked (the segment will change color):

- Next, choose
one of these three options:
- Use
the menu Events > Questionnaire.
- Using
the contextual menu on the mouse (right click), with the
pointer over the last segment of the text, select Questionnaire.
- Click
on the
button on the toolbar.
- A window
called Assign Questions to a Questionnaire will open.
The list of questions in the Question Bank to be used
in the questionnaire will appear on the left-hand side.

- To select
a question, select it in the left field (the right-pointing
arrow will then become available) and transfer it over by clicking
on the arrow. Repeat this action as many times as is necessary.
- On the
right-hand side, the upward and downward pointing arrows allow
you to rearrange the presentation order of the questions. If
you wish for the presentation of the questionnaire during the
test to have Question 2 before Question 1, select
the item Question 2 and click on the upward-pointing
arrow (or select item Question 1 and click on the downward-pointing
arrow):
- To remove
an assigned question from the questionnaire, (question 3, for
example), select it in the right field and click on the left-pointing
arrow:

- Click on
the Close button. The questionnaire with questions 1-2
is now linked to the last segement of the text, as indicated
by the boxed question mark in the integrated editor of Zigzag
Generator.
Modify
/ Delete a questionnaire
- In the
vertical view, use the mouse to select the textual segment to
which a questionnaire is already attached (the selected segment
will change color).
- Using
the contextual menu of the mouse (right click), select Modify
/ Delete Questionnaire.
- A window
called Questionnaire will appear. To add or remove questions
from the questionnaire, proceed as described above.
- To completely
delete a questionnaire, transfer all the items in the right
field back to the left field and click on Close. A window
will appear asking you if you also wish to delete the associated
paragraph. Answer Yes if the paragraph was only created
with the intention of presenting the questionnaire. Answer No
if the paragraph was not only there to be used with the questionnaire.
In the integrated editor of Zigzag Generator, the icon
indicating the presence of a questionnaire will disappear.
